The Super Star Destroyer is the largest vessel and most powerful to date. Continuing the terror inspiring dagger-shaped design of the Galactic Empire, this class of ship dwarfs every other military ship. Within the smooth hull there lies an "island" which is viewed by many as a city in itself. The trapezoidal command tower stands near the aft end of this island, capped with two geodesic communication and deflection domes. The underside is a busy network of engineering and superstructure. Thirteen colossal engine thrusters glow blood red as they push the immense craft through space.
At 12,800 metres in length, the Super Star Destroyer (SSD) is the largest available ship. This massive ship, with a passenger and crew capacity of 38.000, is also the most expensive to maintain. Habitation is concentrated in the central bulk of the ship, with a full complement of weapons for protection. All commanding takes place in the large bridge tower, which juts from the rear of the ship.
